Multiphase Dryers was founded in May 2022 and builds upon the development started in 2018 within Chardon Engineering BV of a novel drying technology that can be powered using low-grade residual heat or via a “heat recirculating” heat pump. Applications can mainly be found in three different sectors. There’s food-grade drying, ranging from drying herbs to drying typically perishable by-products from the F&B sector affordably into non-perishable resources for food ingredients. Of course, these dried ingredients can also be used for petfood or feed products. A second application lies in the drying of wet biobased feedstock such as plant fibres making it suitable for the production of biobased products.
Last but not least, a version has been developed for the efficient drying of garments in various applications, using residual heat or heat pumps for heat recirculation.
Our founders are Merlijn Chardon and Jan-Hein van Twist. Both seasoned tech- entrepreneurs in fields ranging from EV batteries to water purification, we’ve developed ourselves into experts in the world of drying circular food ingredients and other perishable biobased resources.
